Hi,
do you have any testimonies that support the
#442 shin splint support? Has it actually worked for anybody? Do you
wear it during sports activities only? I'm a runner and I saw you product
at Big 5. I believe I have shin splints on my left leg but it hasn't been so
bad that I can't run. I've had it for about a month now but it hasn't gotten
any worse. I was wondering about your product, if it would be beneficial
to me. Any comments would be greatly appreciated.

"Provides Relief" 2009-11-30
By James M. Martin (Falls Church, VA United States)
I've been running 2 miles a day. I'm 6 ft, 243 lbs so I may be putting a lot of pressure on my calves. I've been having pain in my left calf after running, sometimes to the point where I just start walking. I've read that it can take weeks to months for shin splints to heal, so I needed something to relieve the pain when I run. When I strap on the McDavid Shin Splint Support and do my 2-mile run, I don't feel near as much pain as I normally do. I've been able to do a all out sprint at the end of my run. This device definitely helps with the pain, I wouldn't say it totally eliminates it, but I can keep running without near as much pain as before. I purchased two of these devices to get free shipping. You'll probably want to keep 2 of them on hand so when one wears out, you'll have a backup. The device is comfortable to wear, but I don't have large calves. The tubular rib inside the device helps a lot when it comes to compression and support. I'll definitely keep buying this product as long as I have shin splints.
"Effective and comfortable" 2009-10-18
By S. C. Reh (Rochester, NY)
I am not certain that my symptoms (tingling, some numbness and pain in the upper shin, typically brought on by changing intensity during running) were truly indicative of shin splints; however, I can say that since I've worn this product, I have not experienced the symptoms. I like the guides that sit on either side of the shin bone; that's really what provides the needed pressure. In addition, you can adjust the straps independently according to your desired degree of support at three places along the shin. The whole apparatus is smooth when worn so it wears well under snug workout pants. I recommend washing and/or rinsing it soon after each use to keep the product like new.
