Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great design, poor quality. I Great design, poor quality. I bought these braces to wear on both knees to help with a patella tracking problem. I wore them while playing indoor soccer and was able to play without pain. Without these braces or something like them, I doubt I'd be able to play at all. Based on that alone, I'd give them 5 stars. Unfortunately, both knee braces started coming apart after only two uses. Both had the same problem. There is a velcro strip that connects the padded buttress to the wrap portion of the brace. On both of mine, the velcro started peeling off the padded buttress, apparently due to a poor quality adhesive.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I have Osgood-Schlatter's disease (even I have Osgood-Schlatter's disease (even in adulthood) and a weak ACL, the traditional patella braces barely helped anything in regards to pain and stability, but this brace has worked quite well to reduce (not eliminate) my pain. I recover much quicker now. Mainly used for volleyball. I didn't give it 5 stars because as someone else stated the velcro straps don't line up 100% which makes the coarse velcro side rub against my leg; this is irritating unless you get it perfect.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from I"m 38. I play hoops I"m 38. I play hoops with a bunch of young-bloods and every time I impacted on my RIGHT leg, it felt as if my knee might give. So I bought one of these, and Spenco GRF shoe inserts, and now the weakest link is my LEFT knee. The right knee feels great! I attribute the knee health to this brace, the shoe inserts, and my knee joint vitamin supplement. No one thing will do the trick for a bad knee. Your knee deserves total treatment! This brace was just part of the trick for me, yet an important one. I'm getting one for the right LEFT knee asap.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I read the reviews about I read the reviews about the poor design velcro straps. It sounds cheesey but the best way to make due with what you have is to flip the brace inside out. This way the rough scratchy strap is on the opposite direction of your skin.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Very disappointed!!! Does not work Very disappointed!!! Does not work for people like myself who have very large legs and therefore very large knees -- a common problem for people with knee problems. I see that this web site says the L/XL can be used for 15 to 20" measurement around the knee . .. however the box says 15 to 17" so unfortunately there is a disparity there which is frustrating!!! If it truly worked up to 20" I would be fine. As it stands I can't use this because it is way too tight AND there is no larger size.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from The size is a problem The size is a problem for me. The L/XL I purchased from Academy shows the knee cir to be 15'-17' whereas the McDavid's website advertise that L/XL to be 15'-20'. So why is the discrepancy?

Rated 2 out of 5 by from I bought this for my I bought this for my 13 year old daughter who has Osgood-Schlatter disease, While the brace supports her ok she is constantly complaining about how the Velcro rubs her skin and gives her a red rash. I checked it out and they have the rough side of the Velcro facing the skin and it is larger then the underside so it overhangs and rubs on the skin. I would not but this brace again for that reason. Not well thought out.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from This is a great brace This is a great brace for jumping in volleyball and gives support. However the size is odd for my leg, the S/M is too small and the L/XL is too big. I bought the L/XL which worked great for the first two times I used it, then it stretched out. I've done everything to try to shrink it back, but nothing works. The S/M is too small and doesn't have the stretch the L/XL.
