Rated 5 out of 5 by from Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome My PT recommended these after I had been using a weaker brand and I was still experiencing subluxations. EDS is a genetic connective tissue disorder in which there are multiple dislocations of joints and partial dislocations (subluxations) which are painful and disruptive to quality of life. These braces provide good stability and made me feel like I had good joint stability for the first time in a long while. I'm able to walk sometimes and I feel that these will keep me out of a wheelchair for as long as possible, which is a major life goal for me. I'll look for this brand as I will continue to need more braces as my body deteriorates.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I broke my ankle and I broke my ankle and had to wear a boot for 6 weeks. I was very nervous after removing the boot and my doctor gave me an air cast to walk in. Well, needless to say it did not do much good for me. I purchased this brace and I couldn't be any happier. I still have a limp being that I've been off the crutches for only 3 days but this brace gives me the confidence I need to get back walking/running again. Only bad thing I have to say is the length of time it takes to put on but after a few times you will get a lot quicker. Give at least 3 days to break it in and it feels a lot more comfortable.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic After breaking several bones in my ankle as well as tearing ligaments i started sport again with a flimsy support from the pharmacy. My friend ordered one of these online and suggested it to me as even slightly rolling my ankle on a rock would be an absolute killer and take me weeks to recover from. Netball is my main sport which has very much impact on the ankles and knees, since wearing this support i have not had a single ankle injury and it gives me the confidence to reach my full potential in a game. I'm just about to purchase a knee support as well after a recent skiing accident i have had, i have full trust in this brand and would suggest it to anyone in need.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I'm an avid volley ball I'm an avid volley ball player that severely rolled my right ankle, tearing 4 ligaments. After rehabilitation, doc said I couldn't play unless I had tie up ankle braces on. Since then, I've always worn them. They've saved my ankle numerous times from collapsing and giving out just on transitions not even landing on another foot. I love having the straps for extra side support. The only downside is that I play A LOT and the braces wear down after a year or so. And the price is pretty high. But Hey, I can play the sport I love.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from After playing hockey for 13 After playing hockey for 13 seasons, I switched to Ultimate Frisbee 21 seasons ago. As you can imagine, I've had my fair share of ankle injuries... But after buying two of the 195 ankle braces at the start of Spring League a few months ago, I can happily say that I've had absolutely NO issues with either ankle; and I play 4-6 games every week. I'm 51 years old and, thanks to these braces, I can still hang with the "kids" in the game I love. Thanks for putting out such a great product, McDavid sports. As long as the quality remains high, I'll be a customer for life.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Ever since the design change Ever since the design change with the top locking strap, I am always nervous when I wear this brace. The old design had one strap that wrapped around the top to secure the brace and now there are two straps. The two straps do not allow for the tight locking of the brace because when I pull them tight, the velcro never touches so I have to leave it loose to lock the velcro at the top. PLEASE CHANGE BACK TO THE OLD DESIGN, I USED TO LOVE THIS BRACE. McDavid Response: A cornerstone of McDavid’s success is consistent performance quality so we take your feedback to heart. Please provide us your email address (or contact us directly at customerservice [at] mcdavidinc.com) so that we can better understand your issue and make it right. Thanks again for reaching out!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great ankle support I bought these a while ago but decided to write a review. These ankle straps are the best hand down. I have not had an ankle injury/sprain since I have used them. Mind you I have tore my ligaments on both ankles. I play basketball all the time with these. At first it takes you a good 5 minutes to get them on since it was my first time. After a few times it becomes a quick process. Also you need to break them in a few times as well before you get completely comfortable with them. One negative I noticed is the shoe laces get stuck on the Velcro. When you pull the laces off the Velcro the laces them become messed up. More of a cosmetic thing but it's annoying. Also make sure your socks don't get stuck with the Velcro. It will need up the section of the sock.. Again more cosmetic. Overall great product.
